Extreme Masters has become one team less. ID Gaming, formerly known as unsterblich, has recieved two major penalties and is, therefore, forced out of the tournament.
In advance, ID Gaming had two minor penalties for using a wildcard too late and one major penalty for a missing Aequitas file. In the match against Gravitas, the Norwegian team played with a ringer which is, of course, not allowed. The ringer was krapyl who played instead of enoksen. The violation led to ID Gaming's second major penalty which means they've broken the limit for major penalties.
Azid, team captain of ID Gaming, tried to explain things in a statement:
"Well, we was actually going to play with enoksen on wednesday. Then Gravitas Gaming messages me on Monday and wants to play on Tuesday, we didn't want to lame and said yes to play at Tuesday. When enoksen came home from training he told us that he couldn't play the match on Tuesday since it was his first day at work. Now we didn't got any wildcards left to play and we know about the strict policy that ESL uses. So therefor we decided to play with krapyl the player wich is the actuall fifth player on our lineup. I want to apologize to ESL and Gravitas, we just tried to be nice to everyone but didn't see another choice at that moment."
Kicking ID Gaming out, all their matches have been turned to forfeit losses. For groups, results, and demos, drop by our coverage site.
